Annapolis Expands City’s Successful, ‘Annapolis Go’ On-Demand Service
Starting March 1, the City of Annapolis will expand its app-based, on-demand public transit service, Annapolis GO. The expanded area extends to Hilltop Lane and most of the Forest Drive corridor. Annapolis Go has been in operation since May of 2022 when the City partnered with VIA to operate Annapolis GO as part of the City’s temporary mobility plan to help relieve traffic congestion during the rebuild of the downtown Hillman Garage.
St. Patrick’s Parade in Annapolis on Sunday, March 5
The City of Annapolis’ biggest parade of the year – the Annapolis St. Patrick’s Parade – will take place with step-off at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 5. The Sunday parade will begin just below Westgate Circle/Park Place, with participants lining up along Amos Garrett Boulevard. From there, the parade will travel down West Street to Church Circle, go clockwise around the traffic circle to Main Street, continue down Main Street, and end at City Dock.
Annapolis Launches New Permit, Plan and Licensing Platform
The City of Annapolis has launched a new online permit, plan, and licensing platform to replace e-Trackit. The new system will handle building permits, trade permits, professional licenses, rental licenses, grading permits and planned development permits, among others. Google Play and Apple Store users can download the app “My Civic 311.” The link will be available on the City website: www.annapolis.gov.
BGE Energizing Small Business Grants Program Reopens
In 2023, the BGE Energizing Small Business grant program, presented in partnership with Hello Alice and the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), is offering funding to help central Maryland businesses succeed and thrive. Eligible businesses located in BGE's service area will have the opportunity this year to apply for grants of $20,000. Grant opens on Monday, February 13th, 2023 at 9 a.m. ET and closes March 24th, 2023, at 6 p.m. ET. Recipients will be announced in June.
