Number of Alarms: One alarmNumber of Responding Firefighters: Approximately 50Time to Control: Approximately 45 minutesDiscovered By: The occupant and called in by the fire alarm monitoring companyArea of Origin: 5th Floor unit, patio/atrium areaPreliminary Cause: Under InvestigationAdditional Information: On Monday October 17, 2022 at approximately 3:05 a.m. Anne Arundel County Fire Department Fire Communications received a call from the fire alarm monitoring company for a report of a general fire alarm at the above address. First arriving units were met by the building representative who advised that there was a fire on the 5th floor south wing with sprinkler activation. The call was immediately upgraded to a high-rise structure fire. Fire crews made access to the 5th floor and were met with heavy smoke conditions. Crews gained access to the affected unit and extinguished the fire. Some occupants on the affected floor were immediately evacuated to the lobby, while others sheltered in place. The fire was contained to the affected unit with no extension. There were no injuries to civilians or fire personnel. The fire originated in the patio/atrium area of the affected unit and the cause is under investigation. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Annapolis Fire Explosives Services Unit. No further information at this time.
