22-20753 - Theft - 2000 block of Solomons Island Rd.

On September 30, 2022, at approximately 5:30pm, officers responded to the 2000 block of Solomons Island Road for a reported theft. The store manager advised that a subject entered the store, stole several steaks and left on foot. A store employee followed the unknown person at which point the steaks were dropped to the ground and recovered. The person responsible for the theft of the steaks fled the area and was not located. Total loss value to the business was $240.00.

22-20781 - Stabbing - Unit block of Bens Dr.

On October 1, 2022 at approximately 2:00am, officers responded to the unit block of Bens Drive for a reported stabbing. Investigation revealed that Daqon Malik Tongue 9/22/1996 got into a physical altercation with another adult male. Mr. Tongue subsequently pulled a knife and stabbed the male victim several times. The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment and was last listed in stable condition. Mr. Tongue remained at the scene and was placed under arrest and criminally charged for the stabbing.

22-20848 - Shooting - 900 block of Royal St

On October 1, 2022 at approximately 3:38am, officers responded to a shooting that occurred in the 900 block of Royal Street. The victim who was operating a tow truck was called to the scene to unlock a vehicle for the suspected shooter. There was an argument over the cost of the service at which time the victim began to drive away. As the victim was driving away in the tow truck the shooter pulled out a handgun and fired a shot towards the victims truck striking it. The victim was not injured in this incident, this is an open and ongoing investigation.

No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. Watch Your Car Program: The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft. A small sticker will be placed on your rear window. This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.
