The City of Annapolis, in partnership with the National Park Service (NPS) Chesapeake Office and the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Volpe Center, is in the beginning phases of creating Annapolis' first-ever citywide Public Water Access Plan. The plan is a recommendation borne out of the Maritime Task Force conducted in 2021. To learn more about this initiative, please go to City's Planning for Public Water Access. 2022-2023 School Year Child Care registrationRegistration is underway for ALL families (returning and new.) The monthly rates changed for AM and PM care because AACPS adjusted the start and end times of the school day: - AM (Before School) Care $120 per month - PM (After School) Care $300 per month Registration must be completed in person at PMRC – a $35 fee is due at that time to secure your child’s spot. The Annapolis Recreation and Parks Department (ARPD) maintains a Scholarship Fund for youth and adults who are City of Annapolis residents who do not have the financial means to participate in fee-based ARPD recreational programs, memberships and pool passes as long as applicable and approved. (Scholarship funds cannot be used for facility rentals, before/after school child care and “co-sponsored” programs.) Scholarships are awarded by means of account credit, and may or may not cover the entire cost of the program(s). Details about the ARPD Scholarship Program and how to apply can be found online.
AquaticsSwim at the Pool – we are excited to host swim lessons this summer! From young kids to adults, classes are held mornings. Please refer to the season hours listed on the Aquatics page.

CampsCamps started this week! Registration continues for camps that are not full yet so check to see if what you’re interested in is available! Community Enrichment Camps Maryland state-licensed, Community Enrichment Camps provide opportunities for Annapolis area children to meet new people and experience what Annapolis has to offer! Camps are divided by age and provide safe, fun and affordable settings for children ages 4-12. Breakfast and lunch are provided Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, Mini and Junior camps are held at PMRC and campers need to bring a lunch, drink and snack. Camps run daily from 9 am to 4 pm. Scholarships and vouchers accepted! - For our intermediate campers looking to socialize and participate in adapted “big kid” games and activities, our Junior campers enjoy themed weeks designed to help child grow more independent and become more self-confident and self-aware. Camp Annapolis Maryland state-licensed traditional day camp split into two-week sessions for 6 weeks of the summer. Divided by age to provide safe, fun and challenging settings. Each session has themed weeks and field trips where campers enjoy appropriate activities designed to promote social skills, teamwork and the atmosphere to make new friendships! Breakfast and lunch provided Mon - Thu, bring a lunch, drink and snack on Fridays. 7:30 am - 6 pm daily with themed activities from 9 am to 4 pm each day. Splash Camps Include a variety of traditional and non-traditional sports and activities aimed to develop individual skill and teamwork. Ages vary based on camp. Campers will play a sport or participate in an activity and enjoy swim time at the new Kenneth R. Dunn Municipal Pool at Truxtun Park located at 251 Pumphouse Road. Once registered, detailed pick-up and drop-off information is sent to the participant(s). These are Maryland state-licensed camps that run from 9 am to 4 pm on weekdays. All camps follow COVID-19 regulations as instituted by the CDC. Pricing for Splash Camps is R $140 / NR $170. Fitness Classes - Please review the schedule for current offerings! This schedule is often changed in real time so please double check before coming to PMRC. Last minute cancellations are posted on social media so please follow our pages if you don’t do so already! - New class – Brains & Balance
- Brains & Balance includes partner and group activities through exercises, games and competitions that combine brain and/or balance work with functional movements designed to help older adults with daily life functions. The class focuses on lower and middle body strength both of which assist with balance and general movement, memory, reasoning and conceptualization skills, processing and response time and eye-hand coordination. Brains & Balance is held Tuesdays, 10-10:45 am in Studio A and led by Linda Roberts.
Personal Training – learn about personal training led by fitness specialists at PMRC!Not sure about a membership? Why not try out a class before you commit! Non-members can attend any fitness class by paying $15 or $19 for each class – the cost just depends on your residency (City of Annapolis vs. Non-City Resident.) DAFINA “Young Ladies Destined for Greatness” Age 11-15 DAFINA is Swahili for valuable or precious. DAFINA seeks to enrich young ladies holistically, by focusing on their mind, body, and spirit. The goal is to help young women realize their potential, by teaching them decision making skills, health education, relationship building, study skills, test taking skills, personal appearance, etiquette, the importance of education and various other topics that pertain to their development and overall well being. This is accomplished through workshops, enrichment activities and field trips. Tuesdays, 5-6:30 pm Friday Night Out Age 5-17 Fun, friends, field trips – these are Friday nights that the kids look forward to! A Friday Night Out trip may be educational, amusement, athletics/sports, cultural and/or social. This program exposes children to various experiences that they may otherwise not experience. Positive social skills, such as interpersonal and communication skills, are emphasized. Permission slips required; some extra fees apply. Program is led by Lassie Belt and Paulette Carroll. Fridays, 6-8 pm Girl Scouts of Central Maryland The Girl Scouts of Central Maryland want every interested girl to participate in and benefit from Girl Scouts – activities designed to empower girls! Teen Development Skills – woodworking, cooking and art! Age 13-15 There is a mandatory parent meeting scheduled in September before the program begins (date/time TBA). Program is held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 8 pm. Students learn about the safe use of hand tools and woodworking machinery. Participants expand their knowledge and experience by educational lessons, learning woodworking vocabulary and creating various types of projects.

- Cooking Learn how to plan and prepare small, healthy meals. Plus, how to bake sweet treats such as cookies and cupcakes!
Youth Open Gym Drop-in program gives elementary and middle school students an opportunity to play recreational basketball, table top games and enjoy arts and crafts.Mon-Thu, 5-6:30 pm Adult Open GymDrop-in program is designed to provide adults and high school students an opportunity to play recreational basketball in their leisure time. The Harbormaster’s Office provides hourly and overnight docking and is responsible for: • Boating enforcement on City waterways • Pump out boat service • Removal of debris and derelict vessels in City waters The City fills to capacity most every weekend so boaters should strongly consider reservations for overnight docking. Reservations are accepted online at www.annapolis.gov/harbormaster. Hourly docking is available on a limited basis so please contact us when you’re close to see if there is availability.
