Annapolis Police Department Daily Report

22-14050 - Theft -100 block of Hillsmere Dr
On 7/1/22 at approximately 8:24am, officers responded to a reported theft that occurred in the 100 block of Hillsmere Drive. The victim advised that an unknown person entered her unsecured motor vehicle and stole her wallet. The wallet contained money as well as misc. credit cards and her drivers license.

22-14075 - Auto Theft - Unit block of Greystone Ct
On 7/1/22 at approximately 12:15pm, officers responded to the unit block of Greystone Court for a reported auto theft. The victim advised that his Dodge Charger was stolen sometime overnight.

22-14094-Theft from vehicle- 900 block of Breakwater Dr

On 7/1/22 at approximately 5:41pm, officers responded to the 900 block of Breakwater Drive for a reported theft from a vehicle. The victim advised that sometime in the past month someone stole the handicap placard from his wife's vehicle. 


22-14152 - Stabbing - 100 block of Obery Ct
On 7/2/22 at approximately 9:40am, officers responded to an area hospital for a reported stabbing that occurred the night prior. The adult victim said that she was involved in an altercation with a known female in the 100 block of Obery Court on 7/1/22 at approximately 12:55am. During the altercation the victim was stabbed in the abdomen. Officers were able to positively identify the suspect responsible for the stabbing as Courtney Denise Simms 3/15/1989. Simms was later located and placed under arrest. Simms was charged with several counts of assault and other related offenses.

22-14181-Theft- 100 block of Main St

On 7/2/22 at approximately 7:04pm, officers responded to the 100 block of Main Street for a reported theft. A manager of a business advised that a male subject stole a hat from the business and the incident was captured on video surveillance. The suspect was identified and criminal charges were applied. Total loss to the business was $24.99.


22-14184-Auto theft/recovery - Unit block of Stewart Ave.

On 7/2/22 at approximately 7:07pm, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of President Street for a possible stolen vehicle. Officers located the vehicle unoccupied and were able to safely recover it. Contact with the owner was made at which time it was confirmed that the vehicle was stolen from the unit block of Stewart Ave.. The vehicle has since been returned to the owner. 


22-14378 - Shots Fired - Unit block of Bens Dr

On 7/5/22 at approximately 12:15am, officers responded to the unit block of Bens Drive for reports of shots being fired. Upon arrival in the area officers did locate evidence of shots fired. The evidence was collected. No injuries or property damage was reported.

Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland


Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips. You can also call a tip into us directly at 410-280-CLUE (2583).

Watch Your Car Program:  The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft.  A small sticker will be placed on your rear window.  This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.  The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.  For more information about the program contact us at police@annapolis.gov.
