Annapolis Police Department Daily Report


22-03255- Theft- 100 block of Main Street 

On 2/11/22 at approximately 5:30pm, officers responded to the 100 block of Main Street for a reported theft that just occurred. The complainant said that an unknown male consumed a meal and left without paying. Total loss value to the business was $19.08.



22-03343-Burglary- Unit block of Murray Ave

On 2/12/22 at approximately 7:55pm, officers responded to the unit block of Murray Ave. for a residential alarm. Upon arrival it was discovered that the home had been burglarized. Several pieces of jewelry and a watch were stolen from the home. Total loss value was $425.00.


22-03342-Shooting- 100 block of Obery Ct

  On 2/12/22 at approximately 7:39pm officers responded to the 100 block of Obery Court for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival officers located two juvenile victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The juvenile victims were transported to an area hospital.


   Preliminary investigation reveals that police were called to the 100 block of Obery Court at 7:19pm for the report of a possible home invasion. Shortly after the initial call the police received multiple calls that two juveniles had been shot. The investigation into the circumstances of the shooting is continuing. The two juveniles, a 14 year-old male and a 10 year-old female, were located nearby the incident in the unit block of Monument Street. The 14 year-old is in stable condition and the 10 year-old is in serious but stable condition. The suspect in the shooting is John Estep, 41, of Annapolis. He turned himself in to police without incident. Estep was arrested and charged with seven criminal charges related to the crime, including two counts of first degree assault. He was released on personal recognizance.


22-3395- Theft from vehicle- 1300 block of Tyler Ave
On 2/13/22 at approximately 11:54am, officers responded to a reported theft from a vehicle that occurred in the 1300 block of Tyler Ave.. The victim said that someone unlawfully entered her vehicle and stole several personal items. The stolen items included an IPhone 11, a pink and black backpack containing several journals, a headset and medication prescribed to her. Total loss value to the victim was $700.00.

22-3411- Auto Theft- 2000 block of West St

On 2/13/22 At approximately 3:06pm, officers responded to the 2000 block of West Street for a reported auto theft. The victim said that she left her vehicle unoccupied and running while she went into a store. When the victim exited the store she realized that her 2021 Jeep Compass had been stolen.

Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland


Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. Watch Your Car Program:  The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft.  A small sticker will be placed on your rear window.  This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.  The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.  For more information about the program contact us at police@annapolis.gov.
