Annapolis Police Department Daily Report

21-31647- Theft- 1700 block of Forest Dr.
On 11/1/21 at approximately 10:23am, officers responded to the 1700 block of Forest Drive for a reported theft. The victim said he parked his vehicle in the business parking lot with both tags secured to the vehicle and when he returned the front tag was missing. The theft is believed to have occurred between 10/27 and 10/29.

21-31643-Rogue and Vagabond- Unit block of Hilltop Ln.
On 11/1/21 at approximately 9:20am, officers responded to the unit block of Hilltop Lane for a reported rogue and vagabond. The victim said that an unknown person rummaged through his vehicle sometime overnight. The center console and glove box were both rummaged through but nothing was stolen.  

21-31654-Theft- 300 block of Severn Ave.
On 11/1/21 at approximately 11:29am, officers responded to the 300 block of Severn Ave. for a reported theft. The victim said that an unknown person stole a wreath off of her apartment door. The wreath was valued at $45.00.


21-30919-Recovered stolen bicycle with arrest -1000 block of Bay Ridge Ave.

On 11/1/21 at approximately 6:48pm, officers responded to the 1000 block of Bay Ridge Ave. in reference to an earlier reported theft. The victim was in the area of Bay Ridge Ave. when he observed a subject riding his bicycle that he previously reported stolen. Officers located the suspect riding the bicycle and placed him under arrest. The suspect was in possession of a vial of PCP at the time of the arrest. He was identified as Daven Lewis 9/23/1990. Lewis was charged with theft as well as drug possession. 




Thanksgiving Food Drive
The Annapolis Police Department is accepting donations of food for a Thanksgiving Food Drive until 11/17. We will be providing Thanksgiving meals to local families and donating the remaining food to local food pantries.
 
What we need:
 5# bags of potatoes, 2# bags of onions, jars of gravy, cans of cranberry sauce, cans of sweet potato, cans of green beans, bags or boxes of stuffing, cans of cream of mushroom soup and french fried onions. Other items needed are boxed pastas and pasta sauce, peanut butter and jelly, cereal, soups and other canned meals, boxed macaroni and cheese, healthy snacks like breakfast bars and dried fruit, and baby food.
 
Please check expiration dates, expired food will not be accepted. You can drop off donations any time at the police department at 199 Taylor Avenue.

Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland


Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips. You can also call a tip into us directly at 410-280-CLUE (2583).

Watch Your Car Program:  The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft.  A small sticker will be placed on your rear window.  This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.  The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.  For more information about the program contact us at police@annapolis.gov.
