21-30893 - Motor vehicle theft- 1300 block of Forest Drive 

On 10/22/21 at approximately 7:10 pm, officers responded to the 1300 block of Forest Drive for a reported auto theft. The victim said that he parked his vehicle in the business parking lot and when he returned it was gone. The key was left in the unlocked vehicle at the time of the theft. The vehicle was described as a 2000 black in color Honda Civic. 

  21-30975 - Shooting behind 900 block of President Street 

On 10/23/21 at approximately 11:30 pm, officers responded to the 900 block of President Street for a reported shooting. It was determined that an adult male victim was on scene suffering from injuries consistent with being shot. The victim was transported to an area hospital to be treated for his injuries. No arrests were made, this is an active and ongoing investigation.  


21-30961 - Theft from Vehicle-1100 block of  Bay Ridge Avenue 

On 10/23/21 at approximately 8:22pm, officers responded to the 1100 block of Bay Ridge Ave. for a reported theft from a vehicle.  The victim provided suspect information, and because the suspect stole a phone, the victim was able to tell us that the suspect was in the area of Fairview Avenue. Officers were able to locate the suspect on Fairview Ave. and place him under arrest. The suspect was identified as Derrick Stansbury 6/7/1990. Stansbury was charged accordingly.   


21-30954 - Theft- 100 block of Bay Ridge Road 

On 10/23/21 at approximately 6:21pm, officers responded to the 100 block of Hillsmere Drive for a reported shoplifting that just occurred. The reporting person said that an unknown female entered the business and stole several misc. items before leaving without paying. Total loss to the business was $40.00. 


21-31043 - Theft -400 block  Sixth Street 

On 10/25/21 at approximately 1:10am, officers responded to the 400 block of Sixth Street for a reported theft from a business. The store manager advised that an unknown male entered the business and stole $22 worth of merchandise before leaving the area in a vehicle. Officers canvassed the area but did not locate the suspect.

Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland


Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips. You can also call a tip into us directly at 410-280-CLUE (2583).

Watch Your Car Program:  The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft.  A small sticker will be placed on your rear window.  This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.  The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.  For more information about the program contact us at police@annapolis.gov.
