21-27807- Fraud -1100 block of West Street
On 9/16/21 officers responded to the 1100 block of West Street for a reported fraud. The business manager advised that a subject used fraudulent identification to purchase a vehicle. A male subject entered the dealership and completed all paperwork to purchase a 2016 Dodge Hellcat. Once the deal was complete the unknown subject left with the vehicle. It was later discovered that the subject used a fraudulent North Carolina drivers license to purchase the vehicle. Total loss value to the business was $70,775.
21-27787- Theft from vehicle- 100 block of Green Street
On 9/16/21 officers responded to the 100 block of Green Street for a reported theft from a vehicle. The victim advised that he left his vehicle unsecured overnight. When her returned to his vehicle in the morning, he realized that someone had rummaged through it. The title and vehicle registration were stolen from the vehicle. Total loss value to the victim was $40.00.
