21-26720 - 1st Degree Assault and Handgun/CDS violation - Unit block of Marcs Ct.

On 9/4/21 at approximately 2:47am, officers responded to the unit block of Marcs Court for a reported armed person. The victim advised that a subject known to her pointed a handgun at her and her daughter. Officers arrived on scene and located the subject. He was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun and suspected crack cocaine. The subject was identified as Martin Smith 1/30/1991. Smith was placed under arrest and charged accordingly.

21-26870 - Theft - 100 block of Main St.

On 9/5/21 at approximately 8:32pm, officers responded to the 100 block of Main Street for a reported theft. Officers spoke to a store employee who said that a female stole merchandise from the business. The suspected female was stopped outside of the business by employees and the merchandise was recovered. She left the area prior to officers arrival.

21-26873 - Theft - 100 block of Main St.

On 9/5/21 at approximately 9:24pm, officers responded to the 100 block of Main Street for a reported theft. An employee of the business left his wallet unattended and it was stolen. The wallet contained $400.00.

21-26883 - Burglary - 1700 block of West St.

On 9/5/21 at approximately 6:46pm, officers responded to the 1700 block of West Street for a reported burglary. The victim reported that his storage unit was rummaged through and power tools were stolen. Total loss value to the victim was approximately $1,300.

21-26889 - Warrant Service/Handgun Violation - 700 block of Newtowne Dr

On 9/6/21 at approximately 1:05am, officers responded to the 700 block of Newtowne Drive for a person with a warrant. Upon arrival the subject ran from officers but was quickly apprehended. The subject was in possession of a loaded Taurus handgun. He was identified as Randy Sams 8/25/1998. Sams was charged accordingly.

Watch Your Car Program: The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft. A small sticker will be placed on your rear window. This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.
