Annapolis Police Department Daily Report

21-26077 - Theft - Unit block of Steele Ave
On 8/27/21 at approximately 2:44pm, officers were dispatched to the unit block of Steele Ave, for the report of a theft.  Upon arriving on scene, officers met with the complainant who stated that she witnessed a juvenile steal her neighbor's bicycle from her neighbor’s backyard. She stated that she witnessed the juvenile walk to the backyard and return pushing a red and white “Electra Delux” bicycle that she knows is owned by her neighbor.  The juvenile left the area in an unknown direction riding the bicycle.  The bicycle was later located in the area of Obery Court.  The bicycle was recovered and contact was made with the owner.

21-26109 - Shots Fired- 200 block of  S.Cherry Grove Ave 

On 8/27/21 at approximately 9:58pm, officers were dispatched to the area of S.Cherry Grove Avenue in reference to a report of gunshots.  Upon arrival, Officers met with the complainant, who advised that he heard approximately 5-6 shots fired.  Officers began to canvass the area, and a total of 8 9mm casings were found in the street.  They were unable to locate any property that had been struck by gunfire.  The casings were collected and submitted to evidence. 


21-26117 - Theft from Auto- 600 block of Americana Drive 

On 8/27/21 at approximately 11:42pm, officers responded to the 600 block of Americana Drive regarding a theft from his vehicle.  The victim advised that on Tuesday, 24AUG21, his vehicle was broken into.  He was unable to specify a time frame that the theft occurred, and would only repeat that it happened on Tuesday.  He noticed that his vehicle had been rummaged through, but it wasn't until 26AUG21 that he realized that four pairs of sneakers had been removed from the vehicle.  Total loss value was $800.00.


21-26125 - Theft- 400 block of Sixth Street 

On 8/28/21 at approximately 1:08am, officers responded to the 400 block of Sixth Street in reference to a theft.  Upon arrival it was learned that a female placed several items in her purse and left the business without paying.  The total loss value was $15.03.  


21-26218 - Theft - 100 block of Gorman Street
On 8/29/21 at approximately 5:41am,, officers were dispatched to the Hillman Garage located in the 100 block of Gorman Street, for the report of a stolen fire extinguisher.  Upon arrival, officers met with the complainant who advised that when she started her shift she noticed a fire extinguisher had been stolen. Total loss value was $54.00.

Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland


Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips. You can also call a tip into us directly at 410-280-CLUE (2583).

Watch Your Car Program:  The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft.  A small sticker will be placed on your rear window.  This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.  The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.  For more information about the program contact us at police@annapolis.gov.
