21-22081 - Assault - 1100 block of Madison St.

On 7/15/21 at approximately 9:20am, officers responded to the 1100 block of Madison Street in reference to an assault in progress. Upon arrival officers located a female holding a knife and attempting to assault another female. Officers were able to safely place the suspect female into custody after she assaulted officers by kicking and spitting on them. No injuries were sustained and the suspect female was transported for processing. She was identified as Tyshika Lynch 7/1/1985.

21-22087 - Fraud - 1000 block of Hanson St.

On 7/15/21 at approximately 10:10am, officers responded to the 1000 block of Hanson Street for a reported fraud investigation. The victim advised that she was contacted by her employer in reference to a claim for unemployment. An unknown person attempted to file unemployment benefits using the victims personal information. No funds were paid out to the person attempting the fraud.

Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips. You can also call a tip into us directly at 410-280-CLUE (2583).

Watch Your Car Program: The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft. A small sticker will be placed on your rear window. This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.
