21-20117 - 2000 block of Solomons Island Rd - Theft

On 6/26/21 at approximately 3:11pm, officers responded to a business in the 2000 block of West Street in reference to a theft. A store employee advised that an unknown male subject entered the business and attempted to steal frozen shrimp.The subject stuffed 8 bags of frozen shrimp in his pants and attempted to leave without paying. He was approached by store employees at which point he turned over the shrimp to them before fleeing. Total loss value to the store was $135.92.

21-20206 - 100 block of Obery Ct - Assault

On 6/27/21 officers responded to the 100 block of Obery Court in reference to a reported assault. The adult female victim advised that she was approached by a group of teenagers and a leashed pit bull. The victim said that one of the juveniles let the dog off leash and said "sick him" at which point the dog charged at the victim. The victim fell to the ground, scraped her leg and broke her finger. She was not bitten by the dog but will now require surgery to repair her finger. The juveniles responsible were not located and this investigation is ongoing.

21-20253 - 1100 block of Medgar Evers Street- Shots Fired

On 6/27/21 at approximately 11:49am, officers responded to the 1100 block of Medgar Evers Street for a report of a shooting in progress. Upon arrival no suspects or victims were located. Responding officers did locate evidence and property damage that was consistent with shots being fired. This is an ongoing investigation.

When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips. Watch Your Car Program: The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft. A small sticker will be placed on your rear window. This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.
