21-0372 - Theft of Tag - Unit block of South Cherry Grove Ave.
On 2/1/21 at approximately 12:18pm officers responded to the unit block of South Cherry Grove Ave. for a report of a stolen tag. MD reg. 225594X was stolen from a trailer between 01/28 at 8:00pm and 01/29 at 5:30am.
21-0375 - Theft - 1300 block of West Street
On 2/1/21 at approximately 4:22pm officers responded to the 1300 block of West Street for a report of a theft. A parishioner reported that a check sent to their church as a donation was deposited, but not by the church. Total loss value was $1,000.
21-0378 - Theft - 600 block of Taylor Ave.
On 2/1/21 at approximately 6:56 pm officers responded to the 600 block of Taylor Ave. for a reported theft. The reporting person advised that two adults entered the establishment and stole two bottles of liquor. Total loss value was $96.98.
21-0380 - Assault - 400 block of Captains Circle
On 2/2/21 at approximately 2:43 am officers responded to the 400 block of Captains Circle for a reported assault. Upon arrival the complainant advised that she was involved in a snowball fight with her boyfriend at which time she was struck in the face with a snowball causing her to seek medical treatment. After briefly interviewing the female it was determined that she did not wish to pursue criminal charges against her boyfriend. The female was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The incident was documented on a report for informational purposes.
Scam Alert
Recently we have noticed an increase in regards to reported scams. We have responded to numerous reports where the victim/ reporting person advised that they were scammed.
In some cases the victim/ reporting person advised that they were contacted either via telephone or email and the scammer requested that they purchase gift cards and provide the number on the back of the card. If you should receive a call or email similar in nature please gather as much information from the individual as you can to include the phone number and or email address and report it to the Annapolis Police Department immediately. At no time should you purchase any type of gift card and provide the information on the card to an unknown person.
Please also be aware of tax scams as tax season approaches. If you're not certain that the person contacting you is legitimate, you should not provide them with personal information such as your SSN, name, DOB, banking information or address.
In any situation where you feel that you have been contacted by a scammer or have been scammed please to not hesitate to contact the Annapolis Police Department at 410-268-4141.
