Mayor Buckley to Host Small Business Town Hall
Mayor Gavin Buckley will host a virtual Small Business Town Hall on Wednesday, February 3 at 11:00 am. He will be joined by Candace Pruett of the Small Business Development Center to provide updates on new funding for the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL).
Inclusive Ventures Program
Anne Arundel Economic Development recently announced the launch of the Inclusive Ventures Program (IVP). The goal of the IVP is to help small, minority, women and veteran owned businesses in Anne Arundel County by offering a robust menu of resources including education, access to capital and mentorship.
Impacted Workers Support Fund
The Impacted Workers Support Fund provides financial assistance to those Anne Arundel County residents whose employment was affected by the additional restrictions put in place since November 2020. Qualified county residents who were working in an industry that was impacted by new restrictions or lost their job due to the impact of increased COVID-19 cases on or after November 1st, may receive $500 financial support.
BGE Energizing Small Business Grants
BGE is pledging $15 million to assist small businesses with COVID-19 relief and recovery. In Jan. 2021, eligible businesses will be able to apply for BGE Energizing Small Business Grants of up to $20,000. Program details will be announced on BGE's website when the program opens in January 2021.

PPP Loan Portal is Open to all Participating PPP Lenders
The SBA has re-opened the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan portal to all participating PPP lenders. PPP provides loans to help businesses keep their workforce employed during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.

SBA has announced Ascent, an interactive digital platform packed with resources women business owners need to set, and achieve, their business goals. Ascent is designed for the “missing middle” — growth-oriented women entrepreneurs who are beyond the start-up phase and already generating revenue yet looking to grow and scale.
