21-0210 - Fraud - Unit block of West Street
On 1/19/21 at approximately 9:46am Officers responded to the unit block of West Street in reference to a reported fraud. The reporting person advised that he received an email from an unknown person who he thought was his boss. The email requested that he purchase 15 $100 Google Play cards and provide the numbers from each card. The victim purchased the cards and provided the requested information but later realized it was a scam. Total loss value was $1,500.00.
21-0216 - Check Fraud - 1800 block of Virginia St.
On 1/19/21 at approximately 3:44pm Officers responded to a business in the 1800 block of Virginia Street in reference to a reported check fraud. The reporting person advised that three checks that were mailed in December were intercepted in an unknown fashion and cashed. Total loss value to the business was $28,618.41.
21-0220 - Theft (package) - 900 block of Royal St.
On 1/19/21 at approximately 5:48pm Officers responded to the 900 block of Royal Street in reference to a theft of a package. The victim reported that an unknown person stole a package that was delivered to her door step. The victim contacted USPS who confirmed that the package was in fact delivered. Total loss value to the victim was $377.00.
21-0224 - Robbery - 1300 block of Forest Dr.
On 1/19/21 at approximately 10:54pm Officers responded to the 1300 block of Forest Drive in reference to a robbery. The victim advised that she was walking in that area she was approached from behind by an unknown subject. The unknown subject forcibly snatched the victims wallet from her hand and left the area. The victim was not injured in this incident.
Telephone Reporting and Police Services - COVID-19
The Annapolis Police Department is implementing a policy of telephone reporting for relatively minor and non-violent crimes. When you call to report a crime in Annapolis your call will be screened to see if it falls into a category that is appropriate for telephone reporting. If your call is appropriate for telephone reporting an officer will call you and collect the relevant information and provide you with an event or incident number.
