Annapolis Police Department Daily Report

21-0164-Auto theft- 1000 block of Monroe St.

On 1/15/21 at approximately 8:23 am, Officers responded to the 1000 block of Monroe Street in reference to an auto theft that just occurred. The victim advised that she left her vehicle running unattended while dropping off her kids to a babysitter. When the victim returned to her vehicle it was gone, Officers later located the vehicle unoccupied in the 900 block of President Street. The victim advised that her purse and other items were stolen from the vehicle. Total loss value to the victim was approximately $4,700. 


21-0165-Theft from auto- 400 block of Captains Cr.

On 1/15/21 at approximately 9:20 am, officers responded to the 400 block of Captains Circle in reference to a theft from auto that occurred overnight.  The victim advised that an unknown person unlawfully entered her vehicle and removed an Alexa valued at $100 and a $167.00 money order. 


21-0167-Burglary-1800 block of Copeland St.

On 1/15/21 at approximately 9:55am, Officers responded to the 1800 block of Copeland Street in reference to a burglary. The victim advised that a subject entered her residence through her unlocked front door and removed her wallet. The victim believes that the burglary took place on 1/14 at approximately 10pm.


21-0172- Theft from auto - 200 block of Norwood Rd.

On 1/15/21 at approximately 12:15pm, Officers responded to the 200 block of Norwood Road in reference to a theft of a vehicle tag. The victim reported that she parked her vehicle in the 100 block of Westgate Circle in November. She returned to her vehicle on 1/14 at which time she discovered her rear tag had been stolen.
 
21-0171- Fraud- 1000 block of Jackson St.

On 1/15/21 at approximately 12:24 pm, Officers responded to the 1000 block of Jackson Street in reference to a reported fraud. The victim advised that an unauthorized transaction was found on his debit card in the amount of $279.00.


21-0190 - Shots Fired - 1400 block Tyler Ave.

On 1/16/21 at approximately 9:04 pm, Officers responded to the 1400 block of Tyler Ave. in reference to a report of shots fired. While Officers were checking the area an additional call was received from the unit block of Dorset Court. The caller from Dorset Court advised that a bullet struck her window and entered her residence. No injuries were reported, Officers did locate several spent shell casings in the 1400 block of Tyler Ave.


21-0203 - Theft from Auto - 900 block of President St.

On 1/18/21 at approximately 2:45 pm, Officers responded to the 1100 block of Madison Street in reference to a report of a theft from an auto. The victim advised that at approximately 1:00 pm she parked her vehicle and left it unlocked. When she returned to her vehicle she discovered that her purse was missing. Total loss value to the victim was approximately $30.00. 



Telephone Reporting and Police Services - COVID-19 
The Annapolis Police Department is implementing a policy of telephone reporting for relatively minor and non-violent crimes. When you call to report a crime in Annapolis your call will be screened to see if it falls into a category that is appropriate for telephone reporting. If your call is appropriate for telephone reporting an officer will call you and collect the relevant information and provide you with an event or incident number. Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland


Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips. You can also call a tip into us directly at 410-280-CLUE (2583).

Watch Your Car Program:  The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft.  A small sticker will be placed on your rear window.  This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.  The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.  For more information about the program contact us at police@annapolis.gov.
