20-4809 - Theft - 1700 block of West St 

On 12/11 at approximately 10:13 am, Officers responded for a theft at a business in the 1700 block of West Street. An employee of the business reported that an unknown female entered the business and stole a basket containing gifts for customers. The female fled the area prior to officers arrival and was not located. Total loss value to the business  was unknown.


20-4849 - Theft of Package - 1900 block of Copeland St

On 12/11 at approximately 2:05pm, Officers responded to the 1900 block of Copeland Street for a report of a theft of package. The victim  reported a JC Penney package was delivered to her home at 2:38pm on 12/10, but was not there when she went to retrieve it. The package included: two sets of pajamas, two silver bracelets and a set of earrings. Total loss value to the victim was $180.97


20-4850 - Theft- 900 block of Bay Ridge Rd 

On 12/11, Officers responded to the 900 block of Bay Ridge Road for a reported theft from a business. The store manager advised that an employee of that business was caught stealing from the register. The employee was identified as Bryel Bynum, Bynum was arrested and charged accordingly. Total loss value to the victim was $140.00.


20-4869 - Burglary - 100 block of Acton Rd 

On 12/13 at approximately 9:22am, officers responded to the 100 block of Acton Road for a reported burglary. The victim advised that an unknown person entered the residence via an unlocked window. The unknown person stole 2 rifles, 2 shotguns and a Nintendo Switch. The total loss value was unknown.


20-4872 - Rape - 100 block of Westgate Cr.

On 12/13 at 12:42pm, Officers responded to Howard County General Hospital for a report of a rape that occurred in Annapolis in the eraly morning hours of 12/13. Detectives were notified and assumed the investigation. There is no other information to release at this time in regards to this incident.



Telephone Reporting and Police Services - COVID-19 
The Annapolis Police Department is implementing a policy of telephone reporting for relatively minor and non-violent crimes. When you call to report a crime in Annapolis your call will be screened to see if it falls into a category that is appropriate for telephone reporting. If your call is appropriate for telephone reporting an officer will call you and collect the relevant information and provide you with an event or incident number. Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland


Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips. You can also call a tip into us directly at 410-280-CLUE (2583).

Watch Your Car Program:  The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft.  A small sticker will be placed on your rear window.  This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.  The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.  For more information about the program contact us at police@annapolis.gov.
