20-4545 / 20-4548 - Theft from Vehicles - 100 block of Spa Dr.
On 11/18/20 at approximately 6:30am officers responded to the 100 block of Spa Drive for a reported theft from a vehicle in progress. Officers were able to locate the suspect who was identified as a juvenile. The juvenile was arrested and charged for the theft. While investigating this incident officers took several additional similar reports in the same area. Victims along Spa Drive, Acton Road, Streamwood Court and Silopanna Road all reported that their vehicles were also broken into. A search and seizure warrant was later obtained for the juvenile suspects residence. Several items were seized from the suspect and his residence relating to the thefts. The juvenile was later released after being properly charged on a juvenile citation only to be re arrested after he assaulted officers who were securing his residence while the search warrant was being executed.
20 - 4554 - Assault - 100 block of West Street
On 11/19/20 at approximately 12:30am officers responded to the 100 block of West Street for a report of an assault that just occurred. The victim stated that her and her boyfriend were involved in a physical altercation. She continued by saying that he assaulted her by punching her in the face and also attempted to strangle her. The suspect was gone when officers arrived and the victim did not require medical attention. Criminal charges are pending in this incident and the investigation is ongoing.

The Annapolis Police Department is implementing a policy of telephone reporting for relatively minor and non-violent crimes. When you call to report a crime in Annapolis your call will be screened to see if it falls into a category that is appropriate for telephone reporting.
