20-4369 - Burglary - 800 block of Janice Dr.
On Nov. 5th at approximately 9:49am officers responded for a report of a burglary to a vacant home in the 800 block of Janice Drive.. The homeowner reported that the rear door was forced open and copper inside the home was taken. Total loss value was $100.00.
20-4371 - Theft - 100 block of Hillsmere Dr. On Nov. 5th at approximately 12:50pm officers responded for a stolen wallet and coins in the 100 block of Hillsmere Drive. A suspect was identified and located. A 15yo male was charged on a juvenile citation with the theft and released to a guardian. The coins and wallet were returned to the victim.
20-4378 - Auto Theft - 400 block of Chester Ave. On Nov 5th at approximately 5:15 pm officers responded to the 400 block of Chester Ave for a reported auto theft. The victim reported that his 2004 black Acura TL bearing MD registration 6DY9247 was stolen.
Thanksgiving Food Drive
The Annapolis Police Department will be accepting donations of food for a Thanksgiving Food Drive from 11/01 to 11/20. We will be providing Thanksgiving meals to local families and donating the remaining food to local food pantries.
What we need: 5# bags of potatoes, 2# bags of onions, jars of gravy, cans of cranberry sauce, cans of sweet potato, cans of green beans, bags or boxes of stuffing, cans of cream of mushroom soup and french fried onions. Other items needed are boxed pastas and pasta sauce, peanut butter and jelly, cereal, soups and other canned meals, boxed macaroni and cheese, healthy snacks like breakfast bars and dried fruit, and baby food.
Please check expiration dates, expired food will not be accepted. You can drop off donations any time at the police department at 199 Taylor Avenue.
Telephone Reporting and Police Services - COVID-19 The Annapolis Police Department is implementing a policy of telephone reporting for relatively minor and non-violent crimes. When you call to report a crime in Annapolis your call will be screened to see if it falls into a category that is appropriate for telephone reporting. If your call is appropriate for telephone reporting an officer will call you and collect the relevant information and provide you with an event or incident number. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. Watch Your Car Program: The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft. A small sticker will be placed on your rear window. This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.
