Shooting - 202000003697 - Forest Hills Ave at Bricin St - 09/23 at 3:42am: Officers responded to the unit block of Bens Drive for a report of a person being shot at Forest Hills Ave at Bricin St. Officers located the victim who was shot in the leg and transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Detectives are investigating this shooting. We urge anyone with information to contact our detectives at 410-260-3439 or submit anonymous tips by calling Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.

Theft - 202000003692 - 1000-1099 Wells Avenue - A victim reported that he attempted to purchase an iPhone through a market place app. The victim went to the designated location and a subject took the victim’s money and fled on foot. Please be reminded that there is a “Transaction Safe Place” at the Annapolis Police Department, 199 Taylor Avenue. Telephone Reporting and Police Services - COVID-19
The Annapolis Police Department is implementing a policy of telephone reporting for relatively minor and non-violent crimes. When you call to report a crime in Annapolis your call will be screened to see if it falls into a category that is appropriate for telephone reporting. If your call is appropriate for telephone reporting an officer will call you and collect the relevant information and provide you with an event or incident number. Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland

Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips. Watch Your Car Program: The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft. A small sticker will be placed on your rear window. This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.
