In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police Department responded to 122 calls for service and arrested 7 people.
20-3581-Strong Arm Robbery- 1000 block of Hanson Street
On September 17th at approximately 6:50am officers responded to the area of Hanson St for an assault in progress. Upon arrival a victim was located sitting on the curb at the intersection of Hoover and President St. Victim advised he parked his car in the area of 1023 Hanson St. He exited the vehicle with his keys in his hand, and then reached into his to retrieve his coffee. Victim stated he was punched in the back of the head, face, neck and back several times. He advised he was pinned between the suspect and the car, and unable to escape the attack. Victim stated the suspect forcefully took the keys from his hand during the assault. He then told officers that all of a sudden the assault ended and the suspect walked away and threw his keys on the ground toward a trash can on the opposite side of the street. AFD responded to the scene and the victim was transported to AAMC. Suspect was located near 1110 Hoover St. where he was placed under arrest and transported to APD to be booked and processed and charged accordingly.

20-3587-Theft-30 Maryland Avenue
On September 17th at approximately 1:28pm officers spoke to a subject in reference to a theft that occurred in the unit block of Maryland Ave. Victim states that between 9/16/2020 at 6:00pm and 9/17/2020 at 4:45am someone removed two large perennial plants from her front porch without her permission. TLV: $34
20-3583-Theft of Bike- 800 block of Bay Ridge Avenue
On September 17th at approximately 11:15 am officers responded to the 800 block of Bay Ridge Ave. in reference to a theft. The victim advised she kept her bike locked on a telephone pole to the rear of her apartment building with a lock. The victim described her bike as a lime green Electra Townie bike with a white seat. Victim could not provide the serial number of the bike and there is no suspect information.

20-3589-Theft-Unit block of Pleasant Street
On September 17th at approximately 2:10pm officers responded to the 300 block of Rowe Blvd in reference to a theft. Victim advised her juvenile son's school issued Chrome book laptop was stolen. The Chrome book was last seen in the classroom on 09/16/2020v. It is unknown of the serial number. TLV: $300

The Annapolis Police Department is implementing a policy of telephone reporting for relatively minor and non-violent crimes. When you call to report a crime in Annapolis your call will be screened to see if it falls into a category that is appropriate for telephone reporting. If your call is appropriate for telephone reporting an officer will call you and collect the relevant information and provide you with an event or incident number.
