20-3174 - Theft - Unit block of Market Space
On August 17th at approximately 10:00 am officers responded to the unit block of Market Space for an employee theft.Officers met with management who stated that on 8/11/20 an employee had left in the middle of the shift. The employee failed to close out for the night and turn in the money that was owed to the restaurant. The employee stole $231 for tabs that had been paid in cash.

20-3182 - Assault - 100 block of West St.

On August 17th at approximately 9:56 pm officers responded to the 100 block of West Street for the report of an assault that just occurred. Officers discovered through watching video surveillance that an adult male was punched in the face with a closed fist by an unknown male who fled the scene prior to officers' arrival. The victim was knocked down by the punch but had no signs of any physical injuries. The victim did not require medical treatment.

Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips. You can also call a tip into us directly at 410-280-CLUE (2583).

Watch Your Car Program: The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft. A small sticker will be placed on your rear window. This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.
