Annapolis Police Department Daily Report

In the last 24 hours officers responded to 93 calls for service and arrested 6 people.

20-3129 - Assault - 900 block of  Royal St. 
On August 13th at approximately 1017 am officers responded to the 900 block of Royal St for a domestic assault that had just occurred. Officers met with the victim who advised that her child's father, Marcus Pitts (B/M. DOB: 02-17-1991), had just struck her in the head several times. Pitts was not on scene upon officers arrival, but was located shortly after and arrested for the assault.

20-3131 - Theft From Vehicle 100 block of Duke of Gloucester St. 
On August 13th at approximately 1140 am. Officers made contact with a victim via telephone in reference to his stolen hood ornament. The victim advised that an unknown person stole the hood ornament  from his Mercedes-Benz, which was parked in the 100 block of Duke of Gloucester St.

20-3132 - Auto Theft - 100 block of Lafayette Ave. 
On August 13th at approximately 1202 pm.Officers responded to the 100 block Lafayette Ave. for the report of a stolen auto. Officers met with the owner who advised that his Nissan Altima had been taken overnight. The vehicle was found by the owner on W. Washington St. with suspected damage to the drivers door.

20-3137 - Theft - 900 block of Bay Ridge Ave. 
On August 13th at approximately 315 pm Officers responded to the T-Mobile store on Bay Ridge Ave. for the report of a theft that had just occurred. The complainant advised that multiple juveniles entered the store and stole 9 cell phones before fleeing on foot from the store.

20-3140 - Theft - 400 block of 6th St.

On August 13th Officers responded to the Royal Farms for a shoplifting that had just occurred. The Store manager observed a subject who he knew from previous incidents to be banned from the store, take candy and leave without paying. The subject was not located and the investigation is ongoing.


20-3144 - Strong Arm Robbery - Unit block of West St - Chambers

On August 13th Officers responded to the unit block of West Street for a report of an injured person. Upon arrival the victim advised that while in the area of West Washington Street he was assaulted and robbed of $50. The victim did not provide officers with additional information and no suspects were located. This is an ongoing investigation.



Telephone Reporting and Police Services - COVID-19 
The Annapolis Police Department is implementing a policy of telephone reporting for relatively minor and non-violent crimes. When you call to report a crime in Annapolis your call will be screened to see if it falls into a category that is appropriate for telephone reporting. If your call is appropriate for telephone reporting an officer will call you and collect the relevant information and provide you with an event or incident number. Our non-emergency phone number is 410-268-4141.

Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland


Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips. You can also call a tip into us directly at 410-280-CLUE (2583).

Watch Your Car Program:  The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft.  A small sticker will be placed on your rear window.  This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.  The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.  For more information about the program contact us at police@annapolis.gov.
