20-3125 -1st Degree Domestic Assault- 600 block of Americana Drive
On August 13th at approximately 12:21 am officers responded to the 600 block of Americana Drive for a reported domestic assault. The victim advised that her boyfriend strangled her with his hand and punched her in the face several times with closed fists after a verbal argument. The victim suffered several injuries to the left side of her face and red marks on her neck. Victim declined medical treatment on scene but later transported herself to a local hospital for medical treatment. The victim's boyfriend was located on scene and arrested. He has been identified as Gilberto Fontanez H/M DOB: 07/18/1987, Fontanez was charged with 1st and 2nd degree assault.
20-3119 - Missing Person - Unit block of Madison Place
On August 12th at approximately 11:12 am officers responded to the unit block of Madison Place for the report of a suspected missing person. the complainant advised that her daughter, Debra Harkins (DOB: 10-10-1996), had not been seen since June 2020. Harkins was last known to be living in New York but her last known whereabouts was when she came to visit Annapolis in June.
20-3122 - Overdose - Unit block of Francis St.
On August 12th at approximately 3:08 pm officers responded to the unit block of Francis St. for the report of a suspected CDS overdose. Upon arrival officers met with AFD, who was on scene and rendering aid to the victim. AFD administered 1 dose of Narcan and transported the subject to a local hospital for further medical treatment.
Telephone Reporting and Police Services - COVID-19
The Annapolis Police Department is implementing a policy of telephone reporting for relatively minor and non-violent crimes. When you call to report a crime in Annapolis your call will be screened to see if it falls into a category that is appropriate for telephone reporting. If your call is appropriate for telephone reporting an officer will call you and collect the relevant information and provide you with an event or incident number.
