In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police Officers responded to 287 calls for service and arrested 5 people.


20-2767 - Theft of packages from Silverwood Circle

On July 17th at 6:21 pm, Officers responded to Silverwood Circle for a report of a theft.  The complainant reported having three packages stolen from the front of his residence. Total loss value to the victim was $100.


20-2772 - Theft on Dock Street 

On July 17th at approximately 11:00pm  officers responded to a business on Dock Streett for a report of a theft.  An employee advised that approximately 10:15 pm a subject who was believed to be a juvenile stole the tip jar from the business. Total loss value was approximately $20.00


20-2779- Assault on  Madison St.

On July 18th at approximately 1:00pm officers responded to Madison Street for a reported assault. The complainant reported that a subject known to him threatened him with a knife. The complainant was not injured during this incident.


20-2776- Robbery on Eastport Bridge

On July 18th at approximately 11:00 am a complainant responded to the Annapolis Police Department to report a robbery that occurred at approximately 1:00 am. The complainant advised that he was robbed by four unknown subjects while crossing the East port bridge. The complainant was not injured however his cell phone and wallet were taken from him.


20-2783 - 1st Degree Assault / Armed Subject on Americana Drive 

On July 19th at approximately 12:30am officers responded to Americana Drive in reference to a report of a subject who was armed with an assault rifle. The suspect was located nearby but was not in possession of a weapon at that time.  A search and seizure warrant was obtained and later served on the suspects vehicle and residence. Officers recovered two rifles from the suspect's residence to include a .22 caliber and an AR-15 along with ammunition and magazines. 


20-2789- Stolen Auto from Madison St.

On July 19th at 2:03 pm officers responded to Madison Street for a report of a stolen vehicle. The complainant reported that her vehicle was stolen between July 18th at 8:00 pm and July 19th at 2:00 pm. The vehicle is described as a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer with an unknown Maryland temporary tag.


20-2793 - Stabbing on Clay Street 

On July 19th at approximately 7:15pm, officers responded to Clay Street in reference to a stabbing.  Upon arrival,officers met with the victim who was suffering from a minor stab wound to a lower extremity.  The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released. The suspect in this case has been identified.



Today, July 20th at 5:30 pm APD will be hosting a Conversations with Chief Jackson and Bishop Coates.  Topics to be discussed include APD’s use of force policy, a Civilian Review Board and the Chief’s vision for the Department. Telephone Reporting and Police Services - COVID-19 
The Annapolis Police Department is implementing a policy of telephone reporting for relatively minor and non-violent crimes. When you call to report a crime in Annapolis your call will be screened to see if it falls into a category that is appropriate for telephone reporting. If your call is appropriate for telephone reporting an officer will call you and collect the relevant information and provide you with an event or incident number. Our non-emergency phone number is 410-268-4141.

Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland


Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips. You can also call a tip into us directly at 410-280-CLUE (2583).

Watch Your Car Program:  The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft.  A small sticker will be placed on your rear window.  This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.  The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.  For more information about the program contact us at police@annapolis.gov.
