Annapolis Police Department Daily Report

202000002732 / Theft / Forest Dr 
On 7/15 at 10:50 am officers took a report for a theft of a wallet from the Safeway on Forest Drive that occurred on 07/14 between 4:00 pm and 4:05 pm. The adult female victim left her wallet after she paid for her groceries and when she quickly returned to the store the wallet was already stolen. Total loss value was $75.

202000002733 / Fraud / Oak Hill Place

On 7/15 at 10:30 am officers took a report for a fraud to a business based out of Oak Hill Place. The victim runs a home services company and he was contacted about power washing a home in Beltsville. The suspect asked for their credit card to be overcharged and asked for the overage amounts to be sent to several accounts. The money from the credit card charges never appeared in the victim's account. Total loss value was $9,654.

202000002734 / Theft from Vehicle / Bay Forest Ct
On 7/15 at 2:10 pm officers took a report for a theft of $300 from an unlocked vehicle. It occurred between 07/14 at 3:00 pm and 07/15 at 12:00 pm. It may be related to 202000002726, a rogue and vagabond that was reported at 10:43 pm on 07/14.

202000002735 / Fraud / Prince George St
On 7/15 at 3:24 pm officers took a report for a fraud. The adult female victim, who lives on Prince George St, tried to lease a home on King George St through a fraudulent Craigslist ad. She sent a deposit to a bank account and tried to move in and found it was a fraud. Total loss value was 4,150.


202000002738 /Theft / Pump House Rd 

On 7/15 officers responded for a report of a theft. The reporting person advised that his son's teal in color Mongoose Beast Fat Tire mountain bike was locked and secured in front of the pool at Truxton park at approximately 7:15 am on July 15, 2020. His son returned at approximately 5:00 pm to find the lock cut and the bicycle stolen. Total loss value was $1,000.


202000002743 /First Degree Assault /  Bens Drive 

On 7/15 officers responded for a dispute between an adult male and female who were familiar with each other. The female advised that during the course of the incident the male pointed a handgun at her. The male was gone prior to the officers arrival. He has been identified and charges are pending for 1st degree assault.




Telephone Reporting and Police Services - COVID-19 
The Annapolis Police Department is implementing a policy of telephone reporting for relatively minor and non-violent crimes. When you call to report a crime in Annapolis your call will be screened to see if it falls into a category that is appropriate for telephone reporting. If your call is appropriate for telephone reporting an officer will call you and collect the relevant information and provide you with an event or incident number. Our non-emergency phone number is 410-268-4141.

Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland


Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips. You can also call a tip into us directly at 410-280-CLUE (2583).

Watch Your Car Program:  The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft.  A small sticker will be placed on your rear window.  This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.  The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.  For more information about the program contact us at police@annapolis.gov.
