Homicide

On July 6 at 1:07 a.m. officers responded to the 1000 block of Baywind Drive for an injured person. Officers located an adult male victim outside who was bleeding from an apparent stab wound. The victim was identified as Deontrae Matthews, 34, of Annapolis. Mr. Matthews was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center, but later died from his injuries.
 
Detectives are investigating this as an apparent homicide. This is an active and fluid investigation and we urge anyone with information about this incident to contact our detectives at 410-260-3439.
