June 11 – Rescheduled - Spring Fling Scholarship Fundraiser – Market House


In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 268 calls for service and arrested eight people.  

Theft of Bicycles - 202000002078 - 1100-1199 Boucher Ave - 05/31 from 5pm to 7pm:  Two green Trek mountain bicycles were stolen from an unsecured garage. While on scene officers received a call regarding subjects removing unsecured bicycles from yards.  Officers responded to the area of Severn Ave towards 5th St and located a juvenile riding one of the bicycles matching the description of the Trek mountain bike.  The juvenile will be issued a juvenile citation and was released to his guardian.  

Shell Casings Recovered - 202000002075 - 700-799 Newtowne Dr - 05/31 at 4:45pm: Five shell casings were recovered from the stairwell and rear stairwell exit of the building.  
 
Assault - 202000002072 - 100-199 Main St - 05/31 at 11am: Officers responded to the area for a report of an assault.   Through investigation it was determined that the victim was assaulted by Otto Gordy, 46, of Annapolis. Gordy was charged with assault and three other charges related to the crime.  He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center.  

Theft of Bicycle - 202000002065 - 700-799 Coybay Dr - 05/30 at 7pm: A 24" blue Schwinn Thrasher was stolen by an unknown subject.

Shots Fired - 202000002070 - 100-199 King George St - 05/31 at 1:45 am: Officers responded to the area for reports of shots fired.  Officers located shell casings on the ground in the area, but no victims were found.

Destruction of Property - 202000002046 - 1-99 Market Space - 05/29 at 6:50am: Officers responded to the area for a report of vandalism. Upon arrival, officers located several locations around downtown with spray paint on the buildings. The investigation is ongoing. 

Firearm Arrest - 202000002038 - Severn Ave at Burnside St - 05/28 at 12:45pm:  Officers conducted a traffic stop and located a handgun in the possession of the driver of the vehicle.  The subject identified as, Jriley Downs, 17, of Annapolis was charged as an adult with possession of a firearm and five other charges related to the crime.  He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center without bond. 


Telephone Reporting and Police Services - COVID-19 
The Annapolis Police Department is implementing a policy of telephone reporting for relatively minor and non-violent crimes. When you call to report a crime in Annapolis your call will be screened to see if it falls into a category that is appropriate for telephone reporting. If your call is appropriate for telephone reporting an officer will call you and collect the relevant information and provide you with an event or incident number. Our non-emergency phone number is 410-268-4141.

The plan requires Marylanders to continue to practice social distancing and to wear face coverings in indoor public areas.
 
Due to COVID 19, citizen fingerprinting has been cancelled until further notice.

RESCHEDULED - Spring Fling Scholarship Fundraiser
The Annapolis Police Department benefit for the Annapolis Police Scholarship Fund has been rescheduled to 06/11 at the Annapolis Market House. The event starts at 6pm for VIP tickets and at 7pm for standard tickets. Tickets range in price from $45 to $75. There will be food from Paladar, the Market House, Tarin Thai, Mission BBQ and Park Deli. Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland


Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips. You can also call a tip into us directly at 410-280-CLUE (2583).

Watch Your Car Program:  The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft.  A small sticker will be placed on your rear window.  This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.  The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.  For more information about the program contact us at police@annapolis.gov.
