Annapolis Small Business Recovery Task Force
The Annapolis Small Business Recovery Task Force was established through Annapolis City Council Resolution R-25-25 to focus on the experiences that Annapolis businesses are facing in the time of COVID-19 and to come up with recommendations for assistance for the local small business community. Continue to check the website for more information on how the Task Force can be of assistance to you and your business.
Maryland Business Emergency Operations Center
During emergencies and disasters, close collaboration between the Maryland Emergency Management Agency and the private sector is critical in protecting citizens and rebuilding communities. The Maryland Business Emergency Operations Center is MEMA’s two-way conduit for information sharing between public and private sector stakeholders. All Maryland businesses are encouraged to find out more information on the MBEOC and MEMA’s Private Sector Integration Program and to consider joining. Signing up is easy and only takes a few minutes.
Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce Virtual Connection Series
Every Tuesday at 3pm the Chamber will be hosting a virtual “meet up” to bring the business community together online via Zoom. Each week you will have the opportunity to virtually connect with other business owners while also gaining insightful knowledge about how to navigate the challenges of the COVID-19 crisis. The next Meet Up will be on Tuesday, May 5th with a focus on how to create a post COVID-19 pivot plan.
Beware of Scams and Fraud Schemes
The Office of Inspector General recognizes that we are facing unprecedented times and is alerting the public about potential fraud schemes related to economic stimulus programs offered by the U.S. Small Business Administration in response to the Novel Coronavirus Pandemic (COVID-19). The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, the largest financial assistance bill to date, includes provisions to help small businesses. Fraudsters have already begun targeting small business owners during these economically difficult times. Be on the lookout for grant fraud, loan fraud, and phishing.
SBA Virtual Mentoring and Training
Offices around the country may be closed to the Coronavirus pandemic, but SCORE, Small Business Development Centers, Women’s Business Centers, and Veterans Business Outreach Centers and other resource partners are providing free business mentoring and training by phone, email, and video. Virtual Maryland Arts Summit
Taking place online Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, May 29. The Maryland Arts Summit is the first of its kind for the arts sector in Maryland, highlighting the work that is being done through our communities. Dialogue, learning and networking opportunities will focus on the growth of Maryland arts.
Attention Vendors Offering COVID-19 Supplies
In response to COVID-19, the Maryland Department of General Services' Office of State Procurement has introduced a new Request for Information (RFI) template in eMaryland Marketplace Advantage (eMMA). If your company would like to be considered as a vendor to the State of Maryland for COVID-19 supplies, please register as a vendor in eMMA or update your existing vendor profile. Select the products and services code "42000000 - Medical Equipment and Accessories and Supplies." To access the RFI from the home page without logging in, select "Public Solicitations," then enter "COVID" into the "Keywords" box and perform a search. The RFI template is titled "COVID-19 Emergency Medical Supplies," ID #BPM019116.
