Update-Shooting Reported in Annapolis

On April 8th at 7:45 pm officers responded to the 1000 block of Monroe Street and the 1100 block of Medgar Evers Street for reports of two male shooting victims.  

Detectives are investigating this incident. This is an active and fluid investigation and we urge anyone with information about this incident to contact our detectives at 410-260-3439 . You can also call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP and submit an anonymous tip.  If your tip leads to an arrest or indictment you may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.  


Update-April 9

The victims of the shootings are Anthony Johnson, 21 and Jaymar Howard, 26.  Both victims sustained non-life threatening injuries. Detectives are actively investigating the incident. 
 
The investigation is active and fluid.   We urge anyone with information about this incident to contact detectives at 410-260-3439.  You can also call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP and submit an anonymous tip.  If your tip leads to an arrest or indictment you may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.  
 

Update-April 14
 
On April 14, members of the Annapolis Police, working with officers from the Anne Arundel County Police Department, arrested Jariq Downs, 18, of Annapolis.  He was arrested without incident in the unit block of Admiral Cochrane Drive, Anne Arundel County, MD.
 
Through investigation, detectives identified Downs as a suspect in the shooting. Downs was charged with two counts of attempted second degree murder and ten other criminal charges related to the crime. He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center without bond.
 
Detectives continue to investigate this incident and we urge anyone with information to contact them at 410-260-3439.
