In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 260 calls for service and arrested 8 people.
Theft of Bicycle – 202000001252 – 00-99 Somerset Ct – 03/19 at 6pm to 03/20 at 11am: A royal blue Woom bicycle with rainbow beads in the spokes and green and black handlebars was stolen from the backyard of a home.
Theft from Vehicle – 202000001253 – 300-399 Garden Gate La – 03/19 at 8pm to 03/20 at 11am: A black leather purse was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
Theft from Vehicle – 202000001267 – 900-999 Elizabeth Dr – 03/20 at 11am to 03/21 at 11am: An Apple iPhone was stolen from an apparently unlocked vehicle.
Attempted Thefts from Vehicles – 202000001268 – 00-99 Brewer St – 03/20 at 6pm to 03/21 at 11:30am: Two vehicles were entered, but nothing was stolen. There were no signs of forced entry to the vehicles.
Attempted Thefts from Vehicles – 202000001272 – 00-99 Rosemary St – 03/20 at 9:10pm: The victim reported that video surveillance in the area captured footage of an unknown suspect entering one unlocked vehicle and trying to enter one locked vehicle. Nothing was stolen from the vehicle entered.
Theft from Vehicle – 202000001275 – 1900-1999 Moreland Pkwy – 08/15/19 to 02/25/2020: A Custom Sound 10 disc CD changer was stolen from the dashboard of the vehicle.
Thefts from Vehicles – 202000001282 – 00-99 Southgate Av and 1000-1099 Poplar Av – 03/23 at 12:30am: An observant caller on Southgate Av reported seeing two unknown suspects entering two unlocked vehicles. Money was stolen from one of the vehicles. When the suspects noticed they were being watched they fled the area in a dark grey SUV driven by a third suspect. While officers were searching for the vehicle another observant caller reported two unknown suspects opening an unlocked vehicle on Poplar Av. At least three unlocked vehicles were entered on Poplar Av. Money was stolen from one of the vehicles. The suspects fled in a black SUV driven by a third suspect. Officers located a similar vehicle traveling west on West St. When officers tried to stop the vehicle, the vehicle did not stop and began to flee at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was not pursued and it was not located.
Burglary – 202000001283 – 00-99 Hudson St – 03/23 at 2:10am: An observant caller reported an unknown suspect breaking the front glass door to the business. Officers arrived, but did not locate the suspect. A tip jar was stolen from inside the business.
Telephone Reporting and Police Services - COVID-19
The Annapolis Police Department is implementing a policy of telephone reporting for relatively minor and non-violent crimes. When you call to report a crime in Annapolis your call will be screened to see if it falls into a category that is appropriate for telephone reporting. If your call is appropriate for telephone reporting an officer will call you and collect the relevant information and provide you with an event or incident number. Our non-emergency phone number is 410-268-4141.
Citizen fingerprinting scheduled for Monday, 03/23, will be cancelled. We will make a decision regarding the possible continued cancellation of citizen fingerprinting at a later date.

RESCHEDULED Spring Fling Scholarship Fundraiser
The Annapolis Police Department benefit for the Annapolis Police Scholarship Fund has been rescheduled to 06/11 at the Annapolis Market House. The event starts at 6pm for VIP tickets and at 7pm for standard tickets. Tickets range in price from $45 to $75. There will be food from Paladar, the Market House, Tarin Thai, Mission BBQ and Park Deli.
