As the City of Annapolis continues to prepare for COVID-19, we wanted to share the following resources with our business community.

The Office Economic Development will remain in contact with the US Small Business Administration, Maryland Department of Commerce, and the City's Office of Emergency Management to provide businesses with important information.

Federal Resources

US Small Business Administration

The SBA has 68 District Offices, as well as support provided by its Resource Partners, such as SCORE offices, Women’s Business Centers, Small Business Development Centers and Veterans Business Outreach Centers. When faced with a business need, use the SBA’s Local Assistance Directory to locate the office nearest you. The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering low-interest federal disaster loans for working capital to small businesses suffering substantial economic injury as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

This interim guidance is based on what is currently known about the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will update this interim guidance as needed and as additional information becomes available.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration

This webpage provides information for workers and employers about the evolving coronavirus outbreak. The information includes links to interim guidance and other resources for preventing exposures to, and infection with COVID-19.

US Department of Labor Guidance

The U.S. Department of Labor has developed some guidelines for how companies can prepare their workplace for COVID-19.

State of Maryland Resources

Maryland Department of Labor

The Maryland Department of Labor’s Division of Labor and Industry enforces the Maryland Health Working Families Act, also known as safe and sick leave, which may be useful for employees who need to take off from work due to COVID-19. If a business experiences a temporary or permanent layoff, Labor’s Division of Unemployment Insurance’s Bulk Claim Services can open unemployment insurance claims for all affected employees. Businesses should contact a Claims Representative by emailing dluibulkclaims-dllr@maryland.gov or calling (410) 767-3252.

Maryland Insurance Administration

The Maryland Insurance Administration has also put together an FAQ addressing insurance-related questions about coronavirus.

Maryland Department of Health

Continue to regularly visit the Maryland Department of Health for the latest information on coronavirus and the state’s response to the outbreak.
