In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 265 calls for service and arrested 9 people.
Theft of Package – 202000001058 – 00-99 Pleasant St – 03/06 from 5:45pm to 6:30pm: A package was stolen after it was delivered to the front door of the home by UPS.
Drug Possession Arrest – 202000001059 – 1300-1399 Tyler Av – 03/06 at 7pm: Officers conducted a traffic stop that led to the seizure of three glass bottles containing suspected PCP. The driver of the vehicle, Deontray Johnson, 34, and the passenger, James Dorsey, 40, both of Annapolis, were arrested. Johnson and Dorsey were both charged with possession of CDS with intent to distribute, possession of CDS and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Both were released by the District Court Commissioner on their own recognizance.
Shots Fired – 202000001069 – 100-199 West Washington St – 03/07 from 2am to 3am: On 03/07 at 10:45am an observant caller reported shell casings on the sidewalk in the area. Officers located several shell casings. Through investigation officers believe shots were fired between 2am and 3am. No calls were received at the time.
Theft from Vehicle – 202000001084 – 800-899 Monroe St – 03/07 at 5pm to 03/08 at 12:15am: All four wheels were stolen from a 2018 Honda Accord. The same vehicle’s wheels were stolen in November of 2019.
Burglary – 202000001085 – 00-99 Fleet St – 03/07 at 1:30pm to 03/08 at 9:50am: The resident returned home and discovered a rear door was forced open. Officers searched the home and discovered a suspect not known to the resident inside. Nicholas Finucan, 31, of Virginia was arrested and charged with fourth degree burglary and destruction of property. He was released on his own recognizance by the District Court Commissioner.
Theft from Vehicle – 202000001089 – 00-99 Market Space – 03/08 from 12:01am to 1:30am: Two cell phones and a wallet were stolen from an apparently unlocked vehicle.
Attempted Robbery – 202000001093 – 1000-1099 Madison St – 03/08 at 9:55pm: Two male victims were moving furniture into a van when they were approached by a male suspect who asked for money. The suspect agreed to help move furniture in exchange for money and after the job was done the victims gave him $10. The suspect left, but returned a short time later and asked for more money. The victims refused, but the suspect continued to ask for money and one of the victims gave him $2 to get him to go away. The suspect wasn’t happy with the $2 and reached into one of the victim’s pockets to try to remove a wallet. When this happened the other victim took out his cell phone and started to call 9-1-1, the suspect punched this victim in the face repeatedly and then fled the area on foot. The suspect was not located.
Spring Fling Scholarship Fundraiser
The Annapolis Police Department is co-hosting a benefit for the Annapolis Police Scholarship Fund on 03/18 at the Annapolis Market House. The event starts at 6pm for VIP tickets and at 7pm for standard tickets. Tickets range in price from $45 to $75. There will be food from Paladar, the Market House, Tarin Thai, Mission BBQ and Park Deli. There will be silent and live auctions featuring a Tailgate Package for the 2020 SJC v.
