In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 313 calls for service and arrested 5 people.       
 
UPDATE Missing Person – 202000000264 – 1000-1099 Cedar Ridge Ct – 01/12 at 1:45am: On 01/15 Catarino Perez De Paz, 35, of Annapolis was reported missing by friends. He was last seen on 01/12. UPDATE – On 03/01 Catarino Perez De Paz was located, deceased, by Natural Resources Police. The investigation of his death is continuing.
 
UPDATE Armed Robbery – 202000000890 – 00-99 Summerfield Dr – 02/24 at 10:30pm: The 17 year old male victim was walking in the area when he was confronted by two male suspects armed with handguns. They demanded money and took money from the victim. The suspects fled the area on foot and the victim waited about 20 minutes to report the robbery. Officers searched the area, but did not locate the suspects. UPDATE – Through investigation detectives identified one of the suspects as Davis Escobar, 16, of Annapolis. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant and on 02/28 Escobar was located and arrested. Escobar was charged with armed robbery and seven other related charges. Escobar is being held without bond at the Jennifer Road Detention Center.
 
Theft of Mail – 202000000969 – 200-299 Woods Dr – 02/29 at 11am to 03/01 at 9:20am: Mail was stolen from a curbside mailbox.
 
Burglary – 202000000972 – 00-99 Rosecrest Dr – 03/01 at 12:30pm: An observant caller reported seeing a male suspect enter a home through a broken window. Officers arrived but did not locate anyone inside the home. Nothing was reported stolen from the home.
 
Armed Robbery – 202000000982 – 400-499 Captains Circle – 03/02 at 4:05am: An adult male victim reported he was standing outside an apartment when a male suspect with a baseball bat threatened him and demanded property. The suspect forced the victim into the apartment, where another adult male was sleeping on the couch. The suspect demanded property from both of the victims and then took a jacket belonging to one of the victims. The suspect fled the area and the victim called the police about 10 minutes later. Officers searched the area, but did not locate the suspect.


 
Spring Fling Scholarship Fundraiser
The Annapolis Police Department is co-hosting a benefit for the Annapolis Police Scholarship Fund on 03/18 at the Annapolis Market House. The event starts at 6pm for VIP tickets and at 7pm for standard tickets. Tickets range in price from $45 to $75. Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland


Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips. You can also call a tip into us directly at 410-280-CLUE (2583).

Watch Your Car Program:  The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft.  A small sticker will be placed on your rear window.  This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.  The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.  For more information about the program contact us at police@annapolis.gov.
