January 21 – Eastport Working Together – 1014 President St


 
In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 109 calls for service and arrested 6 people.       
 
Theft of Bicycle – 202000000164 – 1900-1999 West St – 01/08 from 4pm to 11pm: A red and black Mongoose bicycle that had been secured with a lock behind a business was stolen.
 
Burglary – 202000000166 & 167 – 00-99 Water St and 00-99 Lafayette Av – 01/10 at 4:56am: Officers responded to the unit block of Water St for a report of a suspect trying to open the door to a home. They located the suspect hiding in the basement window well of the home and he fled when officers approached. Officers stopped the adult male suspect and discovered that the identical window in the house next door was broken. The suspect was searched and a credit card belonging to a resident of a home in the unit Lafayette Av was discovered in his pocket. Officers responded to the home on Lafayette Av and discovered that a window screen was cut and the credit card stolen from inside. The suspect has yet to be transported to the District Court Commissioner for his initial hearing. Once he has been charged the suspect’s name will be released.


 
No Citizen Fingerprinting
No citizen fingerprinting will be offered Monday, January 20. Citizen fingerprinting will resume Monday, 01/27, at 6:30pm.

Harbour House and Eastport Terrace residents, Eastport neighbors, and government and community leaders are invited to attend an Eastport Working Together meeting on Tuesday, 01/21, at 6:30pm at the Rosalie Mitchell Community Center, 1014 President St. Eastport Working Together is a collective group of residents committed to listening, engaging and investing in the Eastport community by organizing around challenging issues that affect residents. Submitting Anonymous Tips to Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland


Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland is an organization separate from the Annapolis Police Department. When you phone in or submit your Annapolis crime tip online or through the P3 Tips smartphone app Metro Crime Stoppers receives your tip anonymously and only forwards your tip information to the Annapolis Police Department. No identifying information is ever forwarded to us. Metro Crime Stoppers uses a special coding system to protect your identity, they do not use Caller ID or record telephone conversations. If your tip leads to the arrest or indictment of a person for a felony you could qualify for up to a $2,000 cash reward from Metro Crime Stoppers. You can submit a tip by calling 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587), visiting www.metrocrimestoppers.org, or through the P3 Tips smartphone app. The app can be found in the Apple or Android app stores by searching for P3 Tips. You can also call a tip into us directly at 410-280-CLUE (2583).

Watch Your Car Program:  The Watch Your Car Program helps prevent vehicle theft.  A small sticker will be placed on your rear window.  This sticker alerts officers nationwide that your vehicle is not normally driven during the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.  The vehicle may be stopped to verify ownership.  For more information about the program contact us at police@annapolis.gov.
