In the last 72 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 266 calls for service and arrested 19 people.
Theft from Vehicle – 201900006303 – 100-199 Gorman St – 12/27 from 2pm to 3:15pm: An Apple MacBook Air laptop computer was stolen from an apparently unlocked vehicle.
Theft of Bicycle – 201900006305 – 400-499 Sixth St – 12/27 from 11am to 7pm: A grey Schwinn Addison 700 men’s hybrid bicycle with tan handlebars and seat was stolen. The bicycle was locked to a pole outside a business.
Burglary – 201900006325 – 100-199 South Homeland Av – 12/28 at 7am to 12/29 at 8am: The door to the home was forced open. It is unknown if anything was stolen.
Theft from Vehicle – 201900006327 – 1100-1199 August Dr – 12/28 at 2:30pm to 12/29 at 2pm: Money and an Amazon Echo were stolen from an apparently unlocked vehicle.
Theft from Vehicle – 201900006329 – 00-99 Muir Woods Ct – 12/29 at 5:50pm: An observant caller reported a male suspect attempting to enter several parked vehicles. Officers arrived and located the suspect, Bladimir Palencia, 21, of Annapolis, inside a parked vehicle. Palencia was identified as the suspect and it was determined that money was stolen from the vehicle he was sitting in when officers arrived. Palencia was charged with theft and rogue and vagabond and released by the District Court Commissioner on his own recognizance.
Attempted Thefts from Vehicles – 201900006333 – 1400-1499 Regent St – 12/28 at 7pm to 12/29 at 11am: Two apparently unlocked vehicles were entered, but nothing was stolen.
Shooting – 201900006334 – 1400-1499 Tyler Av – 12/29 at 10:48pm: The adult male victim reported that he was outside in the area when he heard a gunshot and realized he’d been shot in the hand. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Make a Plan to get Home Safely
‘Tis the season to be merry, but if you are making merry by drinking and driving, make a new plan. Make a plan for getting home safely before heading to your holiday party. If you see a suspected drunk driver, report it to the police by calling 410-268-4141 or 9-1-1.
City Offices Closed & No Citizen Fingerprinting
City offices will be closed Wednesday, 01/01. No citizen fingerprinting will be offered Monday, 12/30. Citizen fingerprinting will resume Monday, 01/06, at 6:30pm. Additionally, no citizen fingerprinting will be offered Monday, January 20.
Annapolis News Year’s Eve Celebrations
The City of Annapolis is hosting two firework displays on 12/31. The first is at a family friendly event at Weems-Whelan Memorial Field that starts at 3pm and ends with fireworks at 5:30pm.
