In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 101 calls for service and arrested 6 people.
Burglary – 201900006158 – 800-899 Janice Dr – 12/15 at 7:30pm to 12/17 at 12:30pm: The home was entered, but it is unknown if anything was stolen. There were no signs of forced entry to the home.
Theft of Package – 201900006160 – 200-299 Prince George St – 12/17 from 2pm to 3:05pm: A package was stolen after it was delivered to the front steps of a home.
Theft of Packages – 201900006162 – 100-199 Prince George St – 12/17 from 1:15pm to 5:30pm: The contents of two packages were stolen after they were delivered to the front door of a home.
Armed Robbery – 201900006165 – 00-99 Silverwood Circle – 12/18 at 1:50am: The adult male victim was walking in the area when he was approached from behind by an adult male suspect who demanded property from the victim while pointing a handgun at him. The suspect took the victim’s wallet and then ordered the victim to walk away. Officers searched the area, but did not locate the suspect.
UPDATE Robbery – 201900006152 – 1400-1499 Tyler Av – 12/17 at 1:21am: There is an update to the robbery of the food delivery driver. The third suspect was located and arrested on 12/17. The juvenile male suspect was identified as a 17 year old from Annapolis. He was charged on a juvenile citation with robbery, assault and theft. He was released to his guardian.
A Movie & Cocoa with a Cop
Come and join us at Midnight Madness on Main Street. On 12/19 we will be outside between 6pm and 9pm to hand out free cups of hot chocolate to the community. We will also have our large projection screen set up at Main St and Francis St showing holiday movies. Take a few minutes and get to know your local law enforcement team, even better let your kids know how approachable the police are, should they ever need help. Come sip Cocoa with a Cop!
Celebrate the Season Responsibly
Ahead of Christmas and New Year’s Eve the Annapolis Police Department is holding a Know Your Limit event on Thursday, 12/19, from 7pm to 1am on Main Street. Officers will be on foot near 110 Main Street offering free breathalyzer tests. Volunteer participants will be asked if they feel safe to drive a car, and then blow into a portable breathalyzer. Participants will be told what their blood alcohol content is and given an educational card with information on alcohol consumption and options to get home safely.
No Citizen Fingerprinting
No citizen fingerprinting will be offered Monday, 12/23, and Monday, 12/30. Citizen fingerprinting will resume Monday, 01/06, at 6:30pm. Additionally, no citizen fingerprinting will be offered Monday, January 20.
