Press Conference at 2 p.m. 


WHAT:    Press Conference about the Sunday evening shooting in Bay Ridge Gardens


WHO:     Mayor Gavin Buckley

Annapolis Police Chief Edward Jackson

    Alderman DaJuan Gay, Ward Six
    Alderwoman Rhonda Pindell Charles, Ward Three and Chair of Public Safety Committee    


WHEN: 2 p.m. Monday, March 16


WHERE: Bay Ridge Gardens, Bens Drive (near the basketball courts), Annapolis


WHY: A little before 6:30 p.m. on Sunday (March 15), Annapolis Police were called for reports of shots fired along Bens Drive in the area of the Bay Ridge Gardens community. Officers responded and discovered a male adult who was a victim of gun violence. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Annapolis Police detectives are continuing to work the scene. Mayor Buckley and Chief Jackson, along with councilmembers and residents will attend a press briefing to encourage the public to come forward. 


The Mayor and Police Chief will be asking attendees to the press event to practice social distancing and virus-spreading prevention tactics at this event.
