City of Annapolis Elected Leaders to Hold
2 p.m., Friday, March 13 Special Session

ANNAPOLIS, MD (March 12, 2020) – Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley has called a Special Session of the Annapolis City Council for Friday, March 13 at 2 p.m. The meeting will be held to discuss issues related to preparations for COVID-19.

According to Article IV, Section 4 of the Charter and Code of the City of Annapolis:

“ (b) The mayor may convene special meetings of the city council at such times as he believes the interests of the city so require.”

“It is important for members of the City Council to be well informed about City plans, procedures, and protocols,” Mayor Buckley said. “The issues around COVID-19 are moving quickly and we want to ensure that everyone has the most up-to-date information about how we handle emergencies.”

The agenda will include City of Annapolis Office of Emergency Management plans for continuity of government, personnel telework policies for city staff, emergency procedures, and protocols for future City Council as well as board and commission meetings. Members will also discuss cancellation policies for public events and gatherings.

The meeting will be live-streamed on the City of Annapolis Facebook and YouTube pages as well as City of Annapolis TV (Verizon channel 34 and Comcast channel 99/100).
