February 2-February 8: Tonight we are headed out to meet with the Human Relations Commission. The Chair of this commission attended our Dec. 2 meeting for City Boards and Commissions and he explained how his committee oversees complaints about Section 8 housing voucher discrimination and other fair housing issues. We will also be attending the regional Housing Needs Assessment meeting tomorrow, and the Environmental Commission meeting on Wednesday. A representative from this commission attended the Dec. 2 meeting to share some goals that this commission is working on. This commission has organized and sponsored a "Comprehensive Plan Summit" --so you can come share your ideas for what should be included in the new Comprehensive Plan with them from an environmental perspective. That will be held at the Pip Moyer Recreation Center, February 26th, from 7:00-9:00 PM.
Planning Commission meets Thursday night and we will briefly review some of the work from the Resiliency Work Group. So far this group has focused on climate change and identifying the City’s most vulnerable assets.
We’ve scheduled the first meeting of the Nitty-Gritty Committee for Feb. 13 at 7 pm. We would like these meetings to move around, but the first one will be at the Pip Moyer Recreation Center at 7 pm.
