Wednesday Rededication of Pindell Field at Bestgate Park
to Include Mayor and Alderwoman Pindell Charles

ANNAPOLIS, MD (October 25, 2019) – Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley and Alderwoman Rhonda Pindell Charles will attend the rededication of the Pindell Field at Bestgate Park in Annapolis on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019 at 10:30 a.m.

Pindell Field was originally dedicated in 1994 in honor of brothers “Buck” (France America Pindell), “Dan” (Jacob Daniel Pindell) and “Ouchie” (Melvin Purnell Pindell) for the hundreds of youth in Annapolis they coached over a 20-year span.

In 2018, following significant renovations to the field, Speaker Mike Busch asked for a rededication ceremony.

All three brothers and Speaker Busch have now passed on, but their impact on Annapolis and Anne Arundel County lives on.

“Recreation and sports play a big role in the development of our youth. I love knowing that the positive legacy that these three Pindell brothers left on the City of Annapolis lives on,” said Mayor Gavin Buckley. “People will play on this field and people will say their names for a long time into the future.”

The field is part of the Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks.
