Saturday Pride Parade in Annapolis Begins
at Noon Down West Street; Festival to Follow
Annapolis, MD (June 26, 2019) – The inaugural Annapolis Pride Parade will begin on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at noon. The route will take the 55 groups down West Street (starting at Amos Garrett) to Calvert Street. At Calvert Street, there will be a festival at the conclusion of the parade with vendors and live music.
Please note that parking will be limited along West Street during the parade. There will be rolling street closures along the parade route during the approximately hour-long parade.
For the parade and after-parade festival, West Street will be closed between Church Circle and Calvert Street between noon and 5 p.m. Parking will be restricted in this section of West Street during the closure.
Please note that parking at Gotts, Whitmore, and Knighton garages might fill up early for this event. Visitors can try alternate parking locations at Park Place or Hillman garages. The free Circulator trolley will be in operation, but will detour around West Street due to the closure for the festival.
“We are looking forward to this first Pride Parade and Festival in the City of Annapolis,” Mayor Gavin Buckley said. “It’s important to celebrate and recognize people from all walks of life.”
The Annapolis Pride Parade is privately funded. The organizer of this event is Annapolis Pride. For more information, email info@annapolispride.org.
