City Dock Action Group to Meet on Wednesday;
First Gathering of Working Teams to Implement ULI Study

Annapolis, MD (March 18, 2019) – On Wednesday, March 20, the newly appointed City Dock Action Committee and Working Teams will hold their kickoff meeting at the “Pip” Moyer Recreation Center in Annapolis. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.

The City of Annapolis and Historic Annapolis are partnering on guiding the implementation of key recommendations in the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Technical Assistance Panel (TAP) report for City Dock. The report was commissioned for the City of Annapolis by Historic Annapolis, Preservation Maryland the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

“This is an exciting time in the history of City Dock – a time of action," said Robert Clark, President and CEO of Historic Annapolis. “We have assembled a group of professionals to thoroughly examine strategies and set a path for implementation. Historic Annapolis is pleased to be a partner with the City in this effort."

The Action Committee is assisted by Working Teams, a broad range of stakeholders and professionals volunteering their services. The nine teams reflect the professional and technical expertise needed to implement ideas for the recommendations of ULI for City Dock.

 “I look forward to hearing from these working groups because we have a tremendous asset in City Dock,” said Mayor Gavin Buckley. “We can maintain the character and history, but find ways to utilize it through appropriate stewardship. The ULI study began to sketch out a vision. I am confident that the working teams will dig deep to help us best explore our options.”

The Action Committee and Working Teams will deliver an implementation strategy in the fall with their recommendations for action items.
