Annapolis, MD (March 11, 2019) – Tonight’s “March for Our Schools” event is expected to attract between 5,000 and 7,000 participants to the City of Annapolis. The City’s Office of Emergency Management is monitoring the rally and potential impacts.

The march itself will begin at 6 p.m. from Navy Stadium (the corner of Rowe Boulevard and Herbert Sachs Boulevard) towards the State House and speakers’ stage (located at the corner of Rowe Boulevard and Calvert Street).

Participants in the march should park at Navy Stadium and make their way to Rowe Blvd.

The march will last for about 30 minutes. The speaking program will begin at 6:30 PM and will run for approximately 45 minutes. After the speaking program concludes, participants will return to the Navy Stadium parking lot to head home.

There is no official end time for this event, but we anticipate that it will conclude around 8 or 9 p.m.

Be prepared for traffic delays and temporary road closures in and around the Annapolis area beginning as early as 4:30 p.m.

The Emergency Operations Center will be partially activated beginning at 3 p.m. to support this special event.

Officers from Annapolis Police (APD), Maryland Capitol Police (MCP), and Maryland Department of State Police (MDSP) will be available to assist with traffic management and crowd control.
