City of Annapolis Announces Liberal Leave for City Employees for Wednesday Winter Storm
Annapolis, MD (February 19, 2019) – Due to the anticipated winter storm arriving Wednesday morning, a liberal leave policy will be in effect for all City of Annapolis non-essential government employees on Wednesday, February 20, 2019. Essential employees should report as normal.
The City of Annapolis is under a Winter Storm Warning from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2019. Heavy mixed precipitation is expected with total snow accumulations of two to four inches, with a potential for higher totals. Around lunchtime, snow will mix with sleet and freezing rain and by early evening will change to rain. Both the morning and evening commutes could be impacted.
Transit services will be operating on a normal schedule. Curbside yard waste and bulk trash collection are on schedule.
As of Tuesday evening, Annapolis Recreation and Parks “Pip” Moyer Recreation Center is slated to be open. The status of services may change as the weather unfolds. Updates will be posted as needed on the Annapolis.gov website and on social media.
The City of Annapolis Public Works Department will be responding to this weather event with necessary equipment and personnel. Please avoid traveling to let the plow crews clear the roads. If you must travel, please slow down and exercise caution. City parking garages are now open free of charge to support City residents in removing their vehicles from Snow Emergency Routes. Once snowfall begins, roads are expected to be slippery. For more information about plowing operations visit https://www.annapolis.gov/730/Snow-Information.
