Annapolis Switches to CivicReady for Mass Notifications
Annapolitans are Encouraged to Sign Up to Receive Public Safety Alerts
Mass communications to the public is an essential component for critical information sharing and public safety operations. For the last three years, the City of Annapolis has utilized CodeRED as the vendor for mass emergency notification system. Beginning on February 1st, the City of Annapolis is adopting a new mass notification system called Alert Annapolis, powered by CivicReady.
Alert Annapolis will deliver customized general or emergency messages directly to homes, businesses, individuals’ cell phones or answering machines via text message, e-mail or phone call. This system will allow the City of Annapolis to reach Annapolitans, visitors, and employees, regardless of their location within the City, and provide actionable information.
Signing up for Alert Annapolis allows City of Annapolis Departments, such as the Office of Emergency Management and the Police Department, to notify you of different emergencies occurring within the City as well as general information that may pertain to your safety.
When signing up, you will have the ability to choose your preferred language, as well as the type of messages (general, emergency only, weather, etc.) you want to receive from the City.
If you previously signed up for CodeRED, you have automatically been added into the Alert Annapolis system. If you would like to update your account, please visit alertannapolis.civicready.com, enter your email and then click ‘forgot my password’. The system will then prompt you to finish setting up your account.
To sign up for Alert Annapolis, please go to alertannapolis.civicready.com. If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Emergency Management at (410) 216-9167.
