The City of Annapolis has undertaken the development of a conceptual design for the new Truxtun Park Swimming Pool Facility, which will provide a greatly enhanced recreational area.
The new pool facilities will be in the same location as the existing pool and will include a new bathhouse; a competitive 25-meter, six-lane lap pool; a family leisure pool; a splash pad; a snack bar; and ample shaded patio areas. The design allows for the future placement of an air structure to enclose the lap pool for year-round operations.
The existing pool will be open for one last season this upcoming summer, with construction of the new pool starting after the pool closes in early September 2019. Construction of the new pool will be completed next spring to allow the pool to open by June 2020.
The pool design/build team is led by Lothorian Pools and includes Campion Hruby Landscape Architects and Charles P. Johnson and Associates (civil engineering). The team and City staff will be presenting the conceptual pool design and addressing questions and concerns on January 23, 2019, from 6-8 pm at the Pip Moyer Recreation Center.
