[ARCHIVED] Vigils planned for this evening in memory of The Capital victims

A number of vigil’s are planned to take place in and around Annapolis later today. Here is the information we currently have on the vigil’s related to the Capital Gazette incident.

4:00-7:00PM – Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis
A vigil will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis, at 333 Dubois Rd. Annapolis MD, from 4:00-7:00PM for the UU faith community.
 
7:00PM – Vigil at the Annapolis Mall
Area clergy are organizing a vigil that will be held at the Pottery Barn parking lot at the Westfield Annapolis Mall. The clergy are inviting leaders from the county and city, and community residents to gather at 7pm for a prayer vigil.
 
8:00PM - Vigil For The Capital
A candle light walk will begin at Lawyer’s mall at 8:00PM and walk down Main St to end at Susan Campbell Park at 8:30PM. A short ceremony will be held at Susan Campbell Park following the walk. Those who wish to attend the walk will be gathering at Lawyer’s mall from 7:45-8:00PM.
 
The City of Annapolis Emergency Operations Center is partially activated, and plans to deactivate at 4:00PM.
 
A phone line has been established for family and friends seeking information regarding the incident at 410-768-5522.
 
OEM will continue to monitor this situation, and provide additional information and alerts as needed.
