[ARCHIVED] Proposed Pump Station Control Building Associated With the City Dock Flood Mitigation Project

Please review and comment on the City of Annapolis City Dock Flood Mitigation Presentation for Ward One Residents Association March 27, 2018

The City of Annapolis continues to seek public comment from residents and businesses on the location of a proposed pump station control building associated with the critically needed City Dock flood mitigation project.  Over the past 12 months, there have been a series of presentations and updates with the local resident association, as well as business groups, to solicit public comment on the project.  These discussions have resulted in improvements to the concept design.  We appreciate the continued valuable feedback from the community on this project that will help bring a solution to the growing number of tidal flooding events in the heart of our city that disrupt traffic on downtown streets and hurt local businesses.

In response to several calls for additional time for public comment, Mayor Gavin Buckley has extended the comment period by three weeks on the numerous alternatives for the location and configuration of the pump station control building.  During this public comment period, the City also will present the various control building options to the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) to receive their valuable input.  The HPC meeting is scheduled on Tuesday, April 10, at 7 p.m., in the City Council Chambers in City Hall, and is open to the public.

Over the past year, the concept plan for the control building has been revised in response to public input received, in addition to the advent of the proposed Dock Street boutique hotel. The City anticipates that the concept design for the project will continue to be enhanced through implementation of the input received over the next three-to-four weeks.

The detailed presentation package for the project can be accessed here or by clicking on the link below.  Your comments and input should be emailed to pubworks@annapolis.gov.   If you have any questions, please call Lisa Grieco, the City’s project manager, at (410) 263-7949. We sincerely appreciate the time and effort from all citizens who provide comments on projects that impact our community.
